Baseball Recap: Emery Wins Going Away Against Richfield

After losing to Richfield the last time they met, Emery decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Wildcats on Friday.

Hayden Abrams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Easton Stoker was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Stilson, who went 1-for-5 with three stolen bases and one run.

Emery's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Richfield, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Emery will face off against rival Carbon at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Richfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Manti at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
