Baseball Recap: Lynbrook Takes a Loss

Lynbrook extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They came up short against the Monta Vista Matadors, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Matadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

Kang Chun made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Monta Vista, their record is now 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Matadors, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

On Monta Vista's side, Sravik Sajja made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Sajja a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Murai, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Van Chow was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Coming up, Lynbrook will face off against Evergreen Valley at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th. As for Monta Vista, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-6 win against Gunderson on the 12th.
