Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carvers Bay). They greeted the New Year with with a 56-38 victory over the East Clarendon Wolverines. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Carvers Bay's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from D'Essence Graham, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jurnee Blye, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

East Clarendon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cherish Cochran, who put up 15 points. Kierstin Woods was another key player, putting up ten points.

Carvers Bay pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for East Clarendon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Carvers Bay will venture away from home to square off against Lake View at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Clarendon, they will welcome Kingstree at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingstree's defense has only allowed 23.1 points per game this season, so East Clarendon's offense will have their work cut out for them.
