Volleyball Recap: Saxony Lutheran's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Saxony Lutheran had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-11 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Seckman Jaguars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since March 28th.

As for Seckman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Seckman lost, don't look at Blake Aikin. Despite the final result, he had 23 digs. With that strong performance, Aikin is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Carson Henning also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Coming up, Saxony Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seckman, they will head out on the road to square off against Kirkwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
