Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Windsor

Windsor waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lutheran South Lancers. The Owls were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Lancers, so the Owls were just returning the favor.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23.

Tessa Whitney paced Windsor's offense, picking up eight kills. Whitney got some help from Lacey Myers and her 17 assists. Myers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lutheran South's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Oak, who had 13 digs and one assist. Oak is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Windsor's victory bumped their record up to 21-4-2. As for Lutheran South, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Coincidentally, Windsor and Lutheran South will both be playing Rockwood Summit the next time they take the court. The Owls will head out to face the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lancers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
