Softball Recap: Wheeler Lions vs. Killingly Redmen
Wheeler lost against Killingly back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Redmen by a score of 5-4. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Victoria Kleeman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Morgyn Perkins and Addie Stanley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Perkins got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Stanley went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Camilla LeSage also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Wheeler now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Killingly, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.
