Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Colonels vs. Pell City Panthers
Woodlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pell City Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Colonels have suffered since January 5, 2024.
Pell City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ebonecia Forman out in front who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Those 13 points gave Forman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zaniya Mitchell, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Woodlawn's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Pell City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-21.
Woodlawn won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pell City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
