Basketball Recap: Lucas Shaw Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tri

Tri typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Waldron proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 51-42 win over the Tri Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Mohawks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Waldron's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Shaw, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Shaw a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Myers, who posted 11 points.

Waldron's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9. As for Tri, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldron will venture away from home to challenge South Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Decatur is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Tri, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
