Baseball Recap: Dublin Scioto Irish vs. Westerville North Warriors
Dublin Scioto extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westerville North Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Friday.
As for Westerville North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.
For Westerville North's part, Adrian Arroyo looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Arroyo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ethan Robinson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmerson Mason, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Dublin Scioto will be playing at home against Buckeye Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westerville North, they will venture away from home to take on Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
