McAlester has gone 6-1 against Shawnee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Buffaloes will look to defend their home field against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. McAlester is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, McAlester needed a bit of extra time to put away Durant. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 22-21 victory over the Lions. The win almost wasn't to be: the Buffaloes were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

McAlester can attribute much of their success to Brandon Smith, who picked up 34 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

Meanwhile, Shawnee didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Kelley on Friday and fell 30-27. The Wolves have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Shawnee now has a losing record of 4-5. As for McAlester, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

McAlester was able to grind out a solid victory over Shawnee in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 20-7. Do the Buffaloes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
