Softball Recap: Dinuba Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dinuba came out on top against Tulare Union on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Emperors walked away with a 7-3 win over the Tribe. This was a revenge game for the Emperors: when they faced off against the Tribe back in April, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Neveah Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kiley Gomez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hope Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Dinuba was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory was the third in a row for Dinuba, bringing their record up to 18-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Tulare Union, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Dinuba has already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Mission Oak on the 13th. As for Tulare Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Tulare Western on the 12th.
