Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Utica Eisenhower). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chippewa Valley Big Reds an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 12-1).

Utica Eisenhower's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3. As for Chippewa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Utica Eisenhower and Chippewa Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Eagles will challenge St. Clair at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (159 vs. 14). Meanwhile, Chippewa Valley (ranked 208th) will meet Fraser (ranked 45th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
