Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Latin vs. Providence Day

Charlotte Latin is 2-8 against Providence Day since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Hawks will host the Chargers at 2:00 p.m. Charlotte Latin will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Charlotte Latin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cannon with a sharp 4-1 win. Considering Charlotte Latin have won 12 matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Cannon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Claire Zhang (2), Brooke Proffitt, and Graceyn Levesque.

Meanwhile, Providence Day faced Covenant Day in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Chargers' defense stepped up to hand the Lions a 2-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Providence Day is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those 18 games. As for Charlotte Latin, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
