Baseball Recap: East Pennsboro Starts off Right with Win over York Suburban

East Pennsboro took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victor by an 18-3 margin over the York Suburban Trojans.

Steel Bayer made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Martz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Foster Jr., who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Looking ahead, East Pennsboro will face off against Central Dauphin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for York Suburban, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Carlisle at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
