Flag Football Recap: ALA - Gilbert North Takes a Loss

If ALA - Gilbert North was feeling good fresh off their 47-0 takedown of Arcadia on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles were outmatched by the Eastmark Firebirds and fell 36-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Karissa Behnke threw for 120 yards on 15 of 26 attempts. Gwenyth Scheurn was her top target, picking up 56 receiving yards.

Paige McCrabb produced another solid performance throwing for 286 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 34 yards and one score for Eastmark. The dominant performance also gave McCrabb a new career-high in passer rating (139.7).

Having lost for the first time this season, ALA - Gilbert North fell to 7-1. As for Eastmark, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

ALA - Gilbert North and Eastmark should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 32nd) will meet Desert Sunrise (ranked 118th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eastmark will face off against Combs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 101).
