Basketball Recap: Ali Thompson Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Rivers of Life Christian won the last time they faced Thomas Jefferson School and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rivers of Life Christian Eagles strolled past the Thomas Jefferson School Titan with points to spare, taking the game 42-27.

Rivers of Life Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ali Thompson led the charge by putting up 21 points. The matchup was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Henrichs, who posted 12 points.

Thomas Jefferson School's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Josie Meehan, who earned eight points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Izzy Pieroni, who put up nine points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Those eight points gave Meehan a new career-high.

Rivers of Life Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Thomas Jefferson School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

They'll take on Crosspoint Christian at 4:30 p.m. on February 11th. Thomas Jefferson School is facing Crosspoint Christian at the right time seeing as Crosspoint Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
