Basketball Game Preview: Mojave Rattlers vs. Basic Wolves

The Mojave Rattlers will challenge the Basic Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Mojave was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 16-15 to Sunrise Mountain. The match marked the Rattlers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Basic entered their tilt with Sierra Vista on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 40-33 win over the Mountain Lions.

Basic's win came from a few key players Mojave will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mia Frias, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamilyah (Star) Williams, who earned 12 points.

Basic pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Mojave, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Mojave couldn't quite finish off Basic in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 39-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Frias, who had 18 points and four steals. Now that Mojave knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
