Basketball Recap: Beech Grove Starts Season with Victory Against Indian Creek

Beech Grove gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 victory over the Indian Creek Braves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since November 26, 2024.

Leading Beech Grove to victory were Harmony Burks and Harper Moore. Burks posted ten points along with eight boards and four steals, while Moore dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those four steals gave Burks a new career-high.

Ellie Oliver and Alexa Sichting certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Oliver dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds, while Sichting scored six points in addition to 15 boards and six steals. Madi Bracken was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

Beech Grove has already played their next contest, a 64-18 victory against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on the 7th. As for Indian Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-38 win against Martinsville on the 8th.
