Basketball Recap: Azle Victorious

After losing to Connally the last time they met, Azle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Azle Hornets slipped by the Connally Cadets 53-52 on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 811th, while the Cadets are ranked 249th).

Azle's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Connally, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Azle will be home for the holidays to greet Saginaw at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Connally, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-69 win against Fairfield on the 14th.
