Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Portville Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-10, 25-11.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Portville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Southwestern will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chautauqua Lake at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Portville, after both having extra time off, they and Our Lady of Mercy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
