Athens Academy barely beat Commerce the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans blew past the Tigers 49-28 on Friday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

A big part of Athens Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Chap Chapman and his top target Keyon Standifer. Chapman threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt while Standifer picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Standifer really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.

Athens Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 354 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
