Volleyball Game Preview: South Spartans vs. Torrance Tartars

The South Spartans are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Torrance Tartars at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

South's tournament run continued when they took on San Marino on Saturday. South took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Marino. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Torrance entered their tilt with Carson on Monday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Colts as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Tartars not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 19th.

While Torrance won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

Torrance's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for South, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

South beat Torrance 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will South repeat their success, or does Torrance have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
