Football Game Preview: Tuscarora Huskies vs. Broad Run Spartans

After both having extra time off, the Tuscarora Huskies and the Broad Run Spartans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscarora has given up an average of 25.7 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuscarora's offense might be in the hot seat on Tuesday considering what happened against Loudoun Valley last Friday. They were beaten by the Vikings 47-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Broad Run brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They took their game last Thursday with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over Park View. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tuscarora better keep an eye on Caleb Pavlus. He was instrumental in Broad Run's win, rushing for 135 yards and five TDs on only 15 carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Broad Run proved: they limited Park View to a paltry -0.4 yards per carry. While three picked up at least eight total tackles, Jack Ahlberg stood above the rest. He made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss). Broad Run's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.45 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 4.33 on average over their last three games.

Broad Run's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Tuscarora, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Tuscarora against Broad Run when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
