Football Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Fieldcrest last Friday, Deer Creek-Mackinaw came back down to earth. The Chiefs took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons on Friday. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Although Deer Creek-Mackinaw took the loss, they still got scores from Shaun Denniston and Hunter Fogle.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will challenge Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, they will face off against Manteno at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
