Football Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Deer Creek-Mackinaw was riding high fresh off their 56-24 takedown of Fieldcrest last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chiefs took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons on Friday. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Although Deer Creek-Mackinaw took the loss, they still got scores from Shaun Denniston and Hunter Fogle.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will host Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Manteno at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
