Irmo hadn't done well against Lexington recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Yellow Jackets really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-0 win. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Wildcats are ranked 44th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Irmo's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
