Softball Recap: Oakland Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

13 must be Oakland's lucky number: they beat Elkton with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Oakers put the hurt on the Elks with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Oakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Oakland got a big performance out of Ella Whittaker, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Whittaker has posted since back in April. Teagan Fauver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Oakland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkton struck out nine times.

Oakland pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Elkton, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.
