Olympian-Packerland - Small recap Oct. 16, 2012

Hilbert extended the longest winning streak in Olympian-Packerland - Small this week by beating Gibraltar, 34-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Brock Gilsdorf was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 201 yards as Reedsville fell to Reedsville. Teammate Tyler Schuh added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.

Spencer Schulz put up the best numbers through the air as Hilbert defeated the Vikings. He finished with one completions for one yards and 16 touchdowns.

Hunter Prokash provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Algoma beat St. Mary Central. He completed three passes for 57 yards and also ran for 176 yards. Prokash's favorite target this week was Austen Dart, who caught one pass for 26 yards.

Birmingham was the best wideout in the league this week as the Pioneers lost to the Panthers. Birmingham racked up five receptions for 120 yards. Noel Farber helped Sevastopol's passing attack out by catching two balls for 29 yards.

Sevastopol's Farber and Birmingham have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Olympian-Packerland - Small in both passing and receiving yards. Farber has thrown for 664 yards this season, while Birmingham, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 22 catches for 541 yards. Gilsdorf from Reedsville leads the league in rushing with 1017 yards.

The Wolves made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,050 from 10,396. The improvement came about via a 63-38 victory over the Zephyrs last week.
