Softball Recap: Edison Beats Perkins for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Edison entered their tilt with Perkins on Saturday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Pirates 16-2. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 11-6 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Edison got a great performance from Jordyn Perry as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Perry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Peyton Bissell was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Brown, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Edison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.

Edison pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will welcome Port Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perkins, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rossford at 5:00 p.m.
