Baseball Recap: Millard West Wildcats vs. Bellevue West Thunderbirds

Millard West entered their tilt with Bellevue West with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Bellevue West Thunderbirds on Monday. For Millard West, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 defeat Bellevue West walked away with the last time they faced one another on April 13th.

Tyson Lewis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nick Venteicher, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Bellevue West's side, Colin Flores was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Flores has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Flores was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Nick Glantz was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run and two runs.

Even though they lost, Bellevue West didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard West only tossed six.
