Basketball Recap: Beaumont School Takes a Loss

Beaumont School lost against Elyria Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Beaumont School Blue Streaks lost to the Elyria Catholic Panthers on the road by a 47-31 margin. While losing is never fun, the Blue Streaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while the Panthers are ranked 64th).

Despite the loss, Beaumont School still got an impressive performance from Maria Goske, who went 9 of 17 to rack up 24 points. That's the most points Goske has posted since back in November of 2024.

Beaumont School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Elyria Catholic, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaumont School will take on Keystone in a tournament on February 15th. As for Elyria Catholic, they will head out to face off against Medina at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Medina will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Elyria Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
