Softball Recap: Washington Finds Playoff Glory Versus Morton

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Washington had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Morton Potters. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Washington's 16th in a row) raised their record to 30-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Morton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-27.

Looking ahead, Washington will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bloomington at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Panthers have won ten straight at home, while the Purple Raiders won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Morton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
