Baseball Game Preview: Norfork Panthers vs. Viola Longhorns

Norfork and Viola are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Norfork Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Viola Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Norfork took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Rural Special get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, everything went Viola's way against Concord on Monday as Viola made off with a 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Viola's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Norfork, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Norfork came out on top in a nail-biter against Viola in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Does Norfork have another victory up their sleeve, or will Viola turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
