Basketball Recap: Jesus Sanchez and Andruw Castellanos Secure Win for Norwalk

Norwalk won the last time they faced Paramount and things went their way on Friday too. The Norwalk Lancers came out on top against the Paramount Pirates by a score of 57-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Leading Norwalk to victory were Andruw Castellanos and Jesus Sanchez. Castellanos went 7 for 16 en route to 26 points and eight boards, while Sanchez dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Castellanos has scored at least a third of Norwalk's points. Aaron Reyes also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Norwalk smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Norwalk's record is now 14-8. As for Paramount, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Norwalk will challenge Firebaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Norwalk is facing Firebaugh at the right time seeing as Firebaugh is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Paramount has already played their next game, a 67-57 defeat against Marquez on the 18th.
