Volleyball Recap: Otay Ranch Comes Up Short

Otay Ranch lost against San Marcos back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Kiana Devaney paced Otay Ranch's offense, picking up five kills. Devaney got some help from Sienna Carter and her six assists. Finally, Ilana Garcia kept Otay Ranch's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Otay Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for San Marcos, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Otay Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Highland on the 10th. As for San Marcos, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Hamilton on the 10th.
