If Gustine beats Modesto Christian with nine runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Reds walked away with a 9-5 victory over Le Grand on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Reds.

Alexander Quezada was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Campbell, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Michael Salsa, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Modesto Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Mariposa County.

Modesto Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Gustine, their record is now 14-5.
