Football Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Ayden - Grifton Chargers

South Lenoir is 0-6 against Ayden - Grifton since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. South Lenoir has given up an average of 28.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Lenoir's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against East Duplin on Friday. They were beaten by the Panthers 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Panthers are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Ayden - Grifton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 31-27 to Farmville Central. The Chargers have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

South Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ayden - Grifton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

South Lenoir came up short against Ayden - Grifton in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, falling 20-12. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
