Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Leavitt

Leavitt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Medomak Valley Panthers by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 back in May.

Trent Holst was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Holst was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Sam Stretton looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Ryder Sawyer-Brown was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Hunter Holst also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Leavitt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Medomak Valley only posted a batting average of .130.

Leavitt's record now sits at 16-2. As for Medomak Valley, they moved to 6-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Leavitt nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
