Basketball Game Preview: Fort Recovery Indians vs. St. John's Bluejays

The Fort Recovery Indians will head out on the road to face off against the St. John's Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Fort Recovery lost to Versailles on the road by a 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 530th, while the Tigers are ranked 133rd).

Meanwhile, St. John's came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-27 victory over the Rangers. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bluejays had established a 36 point advantage.

Fort Recovery has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for St. John's, their win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1.

Fort Recovery might still be hurting after the 76-56 loss they got from St. John's in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fort Recovery was down 47-22.
