 It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Logan ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Friday. They walked away with  a   6-3  victory over the Melrose Buffaloes. Despite the  win, that was the fewest  runs Logan has scored all year.
  Kaeden Stoner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out 12 over eight innings pitched. Stoner has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Stoner was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Mason Wallin was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 On Melrose's side,  Mike Cardonita spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.
 On the hitting side, Melrose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gray Brandon, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Melrose  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 13  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Logan's victory was  their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 16-3. As for Melrose, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 10-6.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Logan by a score of  4-2 later that day.
