Basketball Recap: Dawson County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Laurel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson County). They took down the Laurel Locomotives 69-51 on Saturday. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Locomotives are ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Dawson County, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Laurel, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dawson County will head out to challenge Sidney at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel, they will venture away from home to take on East Helena at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
