Basketball Game Preview: Yuma Outlaws vs. Sterling Tigers

The Yuma Outlaws will face off against the Sterling Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Yuma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Yuma turned things around against Liberty Common on Wednesday. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 70-52.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yuma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Sheffield, who posted 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Thomson, who had 17 points.

Meanwhile, Sterling earned a 62-55 victory over Highland on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Yuma's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Yuma didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sterling in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yuma since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
