Hamshire-Fannett has gone 8-2 against Hardin-Jefferson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Longhorns will look to defend their home field against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Hamshire-Fannett is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Hamshire-Fannett fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Livingston on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one run.

Avery Gallier was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Jayleigh Moralez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hardin-Jefferson). They were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over Tarkington on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Nora Mcintosh was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Mire, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Hardin-Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hamshire-Fannett's loss dropped their record down to 14-14-2. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Everything went Hamshire-Fannett's way against Hardin-Jefferson in their previous meeting back in March, as Hamshire-Fannett made off with a 12-3 victory. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
