Softball Game Preview: Page Patriots vs. Goodpasture Christian Cougars

The Page Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Goodpasture Christian Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Page will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Page had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Centennial on Thursday. Page put the hurt on Centennial with a sharp 13-0 win. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Isabel Melton was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Olivia Braden was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Page always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Goodpasture Christian faced off against Wilson Central on Monday. Goodpasture Christian took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson Central.

Goodpasture Christian got a massive performance out of Madi Crocker, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Page's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Goodpasture Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
