Soccer Game Preview: Everett Alvarez vs. Junipero Serra

Everett Alvarez's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They came out on top against Hollister by a score of 2-0. The Eagles' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Meanwhile, Junipero Serra came up short against Valley Christian on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Padres came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Warriors are ranked 640th).

Junipero Serra's goal came courtesy of Quincy Huang, who's now up to six this season.

Everett Alvarez pushed their record up to 18-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Junipero Serra, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
