Volleyball Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Plainfield Quakers        
        
		
             Avon waltzed into their game  on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Plainfield Quakers as they made off with  a  3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Orioles also won the last time the pair played  back in September of 2023.
 Avon was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-21,  25-16.
 Leading Avon to victory were  Angel Abequibel and  Stella Hamood.  Abequibel  had four  aces and three  digs, while  Hamood  had six  digs and two  aces. The dominant performance gave  Abequibel a new career-high in  aces.
 Several Quakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Rylee Scott, who  had ten  digs. Scott is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had ten or more in the last three games she's  played dating back to last season.
 Avon's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-8. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
 Avon will play host again  on Thursday to welcome Franklin Central, where the match is scheduled  at 7:30  p.m. As for Plainfield, they will take on Hamilton Southeastern at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Hamilton Southeastern will roll in looking for their  12th straight  victory, something Plainfield surely won't give up without a fight.
