Softball Recap: Mcdaniel Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for McDaniel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Ida B. Wells Guardians on Thursday as they made off with a 16-0 win. Considering the Mountain Lions' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kaylie Schmitz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lucy Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

McDaniel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ida B. Wells only posted an OBP of .167.

McDaniel's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Ida B. Wells, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McDaniel will challenge rival Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ida B. Wells is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
