Baseball Recap: Central Hinds Academy Wins Going Away Against Independence

It was a proper cat-fight when Central Hinds Academy duked it out with Independence on Monday. The Central Hinds Academy Cougars put the hurt on the Independence Wildcats with a sharp 10-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Jay Shuff was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Harrell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Central Hinds Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Independence, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Central Hinds Academy will challenge Myrtle at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Myrtle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Independence, they will square off against Pelahatchie at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Independence also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.1 runs per game.
