Volleyball Game Preview: Dwight Trojans vs. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons

The Dwight Trojans will challenge the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dwight has three straight victories, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Dwight is returning to their home court after beating Midland on theirs, despite the fact Midland has dominated at home this season. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Timberwolves 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Dwight who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 18-25, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley came up short against Lexington on Thursday and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Dwight, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
