Softball Recap: San Simon Longhorns vs. Hayden Lobos
San Simon extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They lost 28-9 to the Hayden Lobos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-11 back in March.
Hollie Keil stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in three of her six plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Bryleigh Sloan was another key player, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Hayden, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-14. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 15th (when they won 33-3).
On Hayden's side, Yvana Waddell was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Waddell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mianah Bravo, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
San Simon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hayden, they will take on Superior at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Lobos surely won't give up without a fight.
